Life often takes us on unexpected journeys, leading us to places we never thought we’d go. For me, it was a transition from the auto industry to the world of roofing—a shift that, in hindsight, was one of the best decisions I could have made. Here’s the story of how I went from selling cars to launching my own business, Rushing Roofing LLC, alongside my business partner, Keylen.
My career began in the fast-paced world of auto sales. For four years, I was helping customers find their perfect car—whether it was their first car, a family vehicle, or something sporty. Working in the auto industry gave me a solid foundation in sales, customer service, and problem-solving. It was a rewarding experience, full of challenges and learning moments. But deep down, I always felt like there was something more I could be doing, something different that would give me a sense of ownership and pride.
While I was thriving in the auto industry, I didn’t know that a single connection was about to change the course of my professional life.
During my time in auto sales, I met someone who would completely shift my mindset and career path—Keylen. She was in the roofing industry, and over the course of our conversations, she shared her experiences and expertise. At first, I didn’t think much of it. But as she talked about her business, the challenges, and the rewards of helping people protect their homes, something clicked in my mind. I could see myself doing that, too. I could see myself building a business from the ground up, offering a service that made a real difference.
Keylen’s passion for the roofing industry was contagious. She opened my eyes to the possibilities and, before long, I was seriously considering making a change. The idea of starting something new, something I could call my own, was both exciting and terrifying—but Keylen’s guidance gave me the confidence I needed to take the leap.
With Keylen by my side, we decided to take the plunge and start Rushing Roofing LLC. There were a lot of unknowns at the start—roofing was a completely new industry for me, and there was so much to learn. But with Keylen’s experience and my background in sales and customer relations, we had a solid foundation to build from.
Starting our roofing company was challenging, no doubt. There were moments of uncertainty, plenty of late nights, and the realization that we were venturing into uncharted waters. But there was also a sense of excitement that came with being our own bosses and having the chance to provide excellent roofing services to customers in need.
We didn’t just want to build a business; we wanted to build something that people could rely on. A company that would be known for its honesty, quality work, and commitment to customers. Every roof we installed or repaired was more than just a job—it was a promise to our clients that we cared about their homes and their safety.
Since launching Rushing Roofing LLC, we’ve been fortunate enough to help countless homeowners protect their properties and give them peace of mind. The journey has been filled with challenges, but also immense rewards. We’ve expanded our team, built relationships with amazing clients, and become a trusted name in the roofing industry.
Looking back, I can’t help but be grateful for that conversation with Keylen. Her willingness to share her knowledge and experience gave me the courage to take a risk and pursue something completely different. Without her, Rushing Roofing LLC might still just be a dream in my mind.
Today, Rushing Roofing LLC is thriving, and we’re just getting started. We’re focused on continuing to grow, improving our services, and making sure every customer receives the highest level of care and professionalism. We’ve learned so much along the way, from business management to mastering the technical aspects of roofing, and we’re excited for what the future holds.
If there’s one lesson I’ve learned from this journey, it’s that sometimes the path to success is full of unexpected turns. But when you meet the right people, take calculated risks, and trust in your abilities, great things can happen.
To anyone considering a big change or a leap into the unknown: don’t be afraid to take that first step. You never know where it might lead.
